PSAC History and Mission:

The Peninsula Senior Center organization was formed in August of 1990 by a group of local citizens who recognized the need for a Senior Activities Center. Once fully organized, a Board of Directors was elected by the membership to pursue fundraising events, prepare building plans and plan programs and services for the Senior population. We now have over 600 members.

The purpose of the organization initially was to build a facility to house the Peninsula Senior Activities Center and to provide services and programs that met the needs of our senior citizens.

The mission has always been to enhance the quality of life, maintain the independence and add to the well-being of our senior citizens by coordinating existing services and developing new services that may be needed.

The Loren Corder Foundation donated property at the old Klipsan Airport for the building where our beautiful facility was dedicated in May of 2000.

Our goal continues to be working toward the enhancement of the social, intellectual, physical and mental health and well being of the citizens of the Peninsula and South Pacific County over the age of 50.

RSVP( Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) offers a Senior Peer Counseling!

Sometimes a little help means a lot. Seniors may be facing challenges that are difficult to cope with alone. Senior Peer Counselors offer support to help them through life's problems, crisis and challenges. A life crisis could be anything from having trouble moving through the grieving process after the loss of a loved one, to dealing with illness, change of residence or lifestyle. Counselor’s help clients find new support systems and solve their own problems. If you or a friend could use the help of a peer counselor,

Please call Jenny at RSVP: 360-532-4900 or 800-828-4883. We are here to help you.

Jenny Knudson, Coastal Community Action Program RSVP Program Coordinator
